I feel like I got slim pickings at the carboot sale today although I have not done too bad. There seems to be a distinct lack of clothes and shoes in my size and when I do find an item that would fit, it is usually a horrible colour, very worn or not my style. In the past I have bought plenty of jeans, coats, tops and shoes. I live in hope.
I bought this Louis Vuitton Ellipse style hand bag. At £2 I know it isn't an original but it is really well made and will look good in the corner of our bedroom on top of a Louis Vuitton suitcase that I have. I use them as storage boxes for all my toiletries (bought from car boot sales of course)
I bought a number of gift sets for putting away for Christmas presents. Firstly this Boots No7 men's set containing full size hair & body wash and a face wash for £2. Each of these items are currently £7.50 each in Boots.
A cute Philosophy Marshmallows for Toasting gift set for £3 (£18 price sticker on the back) containing shower gel, body lotion and lip gloss.
Two Soap & Glory full sized items. Mist you Madly body spray £1 (£6.50 in Boots) and The Daily Smooth body butter for £1 (£9 in Boots).
A set of 3 Partylite candles in a gift set. These are great candles and my second favourite after Yankee Candles (although Jo Malone would be my all time wish). The set contains three different scents, Red Tea & Sweet Flag, Wild Fern and Teakwood & Cardamon. These are usually quite expensive so a snip at £2.
A Bobby Jones peg bag full of multi-coloured clothes pegs £1 - you can never have enough clothes pegs. I also bought 4 House Beautiful and Homes & Gardens magazines from the same lady for £1 for the lot. They are all recent - July 2015 going back in date.
On the present front I also bought this new Marvel comics lounge/ pyjama set for my brother-in-law for Christmas for £2. This had a £12 price ticket on it.
For my nephew a new Bench wallet £1. Bargain.
My usual collection of DVDs. 5 for £2 and some at 50p each.
Finally I was absolutely delighted to find this 50p organiser because I sorted through my necklaces yesterday and thought I could just do with some kind of hook system or organiser to hang them on. So my wish was granted today.
David bought LPs, CDs, a fabulous Henri Lloyd Americas Cup weekend bag for £10 and a Sony video player for £1. We still watch videos...... are we strange?
I was surprised at how much one lady was asking for items on her stall. Nothing spectacular or designer but just run-of-the-mill kinda stuff. I understand it must be a wrench to sell items off cheaply but I suspect she took most of it home again which defeats the objective. On the other hand there was one family selling everything at 50p because they did not want to take it home. Sadly they had nothing I wanted.

How did you do at your car boot sales?

Great haul! I always do well with finding Soap & Glory bits at boot sales, but the Philosphy was a great score - well done. I like the necklace hanger, too. :)
Thanks Caroline. I have a friend in mind for the Philosophy gift set for Christmas. I sometimes wonder whether this makes me appear a cheapskate for getting gifts from carboot sales but I often buy expensive gifts for them (cheaply) which I would not buy if I paid full price. What do people think?
