Wales Weekend Away Bargains

David and I have just returned from a wonderful weekend away in Porthmadog in North Wales. We stay at Greenacres  caravan site which we had booked through the Daily Mail newspaper. I have written about these deals (£9.50 per person for Friday to Sunday nights or Monday to Thursday nights) in a previous posting that you can read here

As is our way we looked on Sunday morning to see if there was a local car boot sale on and when driving down the high street we saw a sign for one and followed the signs for about half a mile to a small field where there were quite a few stalls. There was a mixture of traders and genuine car booters who had cleared out their homes and were wanting to get rid of stuff they no longer needed or wanted.

I bought this lovely Vaseline lipcare tin which had originally held 3 tins of Vaseline but now just held one. I opened the tin to check it was still as new and had not been used and when happy that this was the case I asked the price. At 50p I thought this was a good buy. I am a fan of lip salves as I seem to get dry lips all the time. The tin that I bought contains aloe vera so this should give some extra calming and moisturising properties.

I found 4 DVDs for 50p each. Three had been watched whereas one was new and in the cellophane. At 50p I think they are great value and although I keep some I sometimes watch them and then pass them on to family or charities.

I also found 3 magazines, Country Living, Red and Ideal Home for £1 for all 3. They are not recent copies as they date from 2011 and 2012 but at this price I am happy with a flick through them for an evenings entertainment. I sometimes get crafting ideas or recipes from them. I then pass them on to my Dad to give one of his neighbours.

My last purchase was a black vase. I asked how much this was and initially the lady said £2 but then immediately dropped this to £1. I love black pottery and think this will look great in either my toilet or living room on the window sills. It is Wedgwood which is a brand I like and I have found similar on ebay for around £10.

David bought a double CD for 50p and a pair of trainers for £2. These were new and he wore them
straight away after trying them on. My sister and her husband bought some shirts and polo shirts for £1 and 50p each.

We had already been to some charity shops on the Saturday and noticed one independent charity shop had a sale rail with clothing all at £1.50. This is a good price as charity shop prices have now become expensive with clothing selling for a minimum of about £4.99. We call this the Mary Portas effect after she did a TV series on a charity shop and thought the prices were too low so increased the prices saying that she thought people would be prepared to pay the higher price. We now rarely buy charity shop clothes unless they are reduced in a sale. I found an "as new" red t shirt which will be great for on my holidays next week. My sister found a top for herself, a t shirt for her husband and a dress for her daughter all at £1.50 each. I also found a beige lightweight coat reduced to £1 and a brand new DVD for £1.99.

We also visited an outdoor shop which is warehouse size and which had a clearance section. We found two pairs of navy walking shorts for David for £2 each and my brother in law had a 10% discount card which we used bringing the price down to £1.80 each.

We spent Saturday evening on Black Rock sands beach walking along the sea surf as the sun was just starting to get low. We also spent Sunday afternoon on Abererch Sands beach as it was a beautiful sunny day. We took a picnic and the newspapers and enjoyed having a relaxing few hours looking out over the sea towards the mountains in the distance. All very good for the soul.

Sunday night, my sister and her family had to return home which left David and myself alone for the evening. It was a lovely balmy evening so we went out for a meal in Tremadog. We've been to this bistro a few times over the years and as usual it was a good value meal with excellent service.

We spent Monday in Abersoch walking around the village and stopping for a coffee (or in David's case a beer) at Zinc bar & grill. The weather was so lovely for this time of year that we sat outside overlooking the harbour and boats in the sunshine. Just perfect as an end for a great weekend. No matter how busy we are and how many chores that need doing, we always find time to recharge our batteries and spend some time together to chat and enjoy each other's company. Holidays and weekends away are important to us and on that note I am going on holiday on Saturday for two weeks to Turkey so will not be able to post for a couple of weeks but will miss this so much I am sure I will write a post as soon as I get back.

Free nights out

David and I enjoy a number of free nights out throughout the year through a variety of ways.

The first is signing up for details from the BBC to be in the audience. We have enjoyed a couple of nights out at the Comedy Store in Manchester courtesy of the BBC where they have been recording radio shows and we have attended as members of the audience. We are fortunate to live not too far from the city centre and can use public transport to get to there. I have also been offered tickets to attend the filming of shows at Media City where the BBC are based at Salford Quays. Again this is within a reasonable travelling distance and there are good public transport links. Once you have signed up then you should receive emails on a regular basis giving details of shows that are available for you to apply for tickets to attend. The shows are all over the UK and not just based within my area so there should be something within a reasonable travelling distance for many.

A second way that we get a free (or free-ish) night out is by using my Tesco Clubcard vouchers. I have written about these in a previous posting which you can read about here. Basically, whenever you spend you earn points and the points are converted into £ money off vouchers. These vouchers can be converted from Tesco vouchers into money off vouchers at restaurants and they are much better value because you get 4X the value. I usually wait until I have £10 and then convert them to £40 for a meal. Pizza Express and Cafe Rouge are favourites although we have also visited Prezzo which is another pleasant night out.

I book the restaurants on-line and the websites ask for your email address so that they can send an email confirmation. This then becomes another way to have reduced nights out as they email you on a regular basis with offers such as 25% off or 3 courses for say £12.95 etc. So, sometimes I do not have any vouchers to use for a free meal but feel like a night out and we use one of the offers that the restaurants have sent to us via email.

I have also signed up to a website called Show Film First which has regular free tickets for films and events such as dance or theatre in a number of locations throughout the UK. We have had free tickets to some great films at different cinemas around our area. Sometimes they have BOGOF (buy one get one free) on tickets and other times they have prize draws for cinema tickets. They are good value for money as when we have looked at the prices we would have paid then they have been around £15 mark.

One of our cheapest nights out was a night at the Trafford Centre where we went to the cinema with free tickets from Show Film First followed by a meal at Cafe Rouge. The only thing we paid for were the drinks at Cafe Rouge so our night out should have cost £55 and we paid about £12 for a bottle of wine. Not a bad price for two people.

Weekend Away Bargains Part 2

I mentioned yesterday that I had visited a number of charity shops and a small shopping outlet so as promised here are the details of what I bought.

I visited the Oxfam shop in Cleveleys  which is a favourite because it is like a charity clearance shop. Charity shops have become very expensive over the last few years and I have noticed some items priced up more than you would pay if you bought them new. This really applies to the chain store charity shops rather than the small independent ones. This Oxfam shop is a clearance shop for other Oxfam shops and has items priced at what you would have expected years ago. I bought 7 blank greetings cards at 10p each rather than the original price of between £1.99 and 99p.

I always keep a box of greetings cards ready for up and coming birthdays and special dates so that I have them on hand. When I see them at a reduced price I buy several and keep them in the box. This way I am not stung with an expensive price if I am needing a card for a special occasion. I bought some blank ones and a 'thank you' card. A couple of years ago David and I found some expensive Valentines Day boxed cards on one of the car boot sales near Fleetwood and bought two of them at a cheap car boot price. We now get them out to give to each other each year rather than buying a new one every year. I can never remember what they look like so I don't get bored with them and instead we spend the money saved on a lovely bottle of champagne. It has become a bit of a joke between us.

I also found a cute heart shaped handbag for my niece from the British Heart Foundation shop in Cleveleys. This was £4.99 and was originally from River Island and would have probably cost about £20. It has the most adorable animal print lining and can be used with or without the shoulder strap. Her birthday is in November so I will give this to her as part of her birthday present. In the same shop I found a Marks & Spencer Autograph shirt for David for £4.79. This would have cost about £35 when new. I will give this a wash and iron it and he can have this as part of his birthday present for his birthday next month. As a family we used to spend a fortune on gifts for each other and now we get annoyed if we know someone has spent a great deal of money on each other. We do not really want for anything so small gifts from car boot sales and charity shops are really enjoyed as we would rather spend the money saved on holidays and weekends away.

In Fleetwood there is a small shopping outlet which we visit once a year. Over the last few years we have bought a few things from there but not much. I find that these outlets are not always what you hope they will be but having said that I usually find some bargains in the Hallmark shops. This visit they had a number of offers available and I took advantage of three of them. They had luxury Christmas crackers on BOGOF (buy one get one free) so I bought 12 crackers (2 boxes of 6) for £5.99. I usually buy crackers in the January sales but for some reason I did not buy any this year.

I also bought some Yankee Candle tea lights as they were reduced from £6.99 and £6.75 to £4.89 with an additional 20% off so each box of 12 tea lights cost £3.91. This is more than the £3 I pay when I can buy them on the Cheshire car boot sale but still a good price and I wanted to buy these to get the final offer. I bought "Wild Passion Fruit" which is lovely fruity smell and will be great in the summer, "Under the Palms" a coconut fragrance which will be again lovely during next summer and finally "Paradise Spice" which smells of slightly spicy vanilla cookies. I think this will be a good fragrance to burn at Christmas as it reminded me a little of the Christmas Cookie fragrance.

The cost of these items came to over £17 and they had an offer on that if you spent £15 you got a free "goody bag" which was the third offer. There were all sorts of items in the bag and these included:
  • Boxed set of 50 note cards with envelopes
  • Boxed set of 7 Thank You cards with envelopes
  • Funky gift wrap & tag
  • 3 sheets of pink spotty tissue paper
  • Couple of gift tags
  • 5 blank and birthday cards
  • Silver gift bag
These all together are probably worth over £20 so I think I did reasonably well with my shopping at this shop. There was not much else to be had at the other shops although my sister managed to buy a couple of half price T Shirts.

Weekend Away Bargains

My sister and I organise about 10 weekends away throughout the year which are usually in the Spring and Autumn. We organise these weekends away with The Sun or The Daily Mail newspapers when they have the holidays for £9.50 per person offers available. I am sure you will have seen the adverts on the TV over the years. We have been going on these weekends away for over 10 years now and I think they are really good value for money.

We have found out which caravan parks to go to at what time of year and also which ones to avoid!!. This weekend we visited Fleetwood so that we could see Blackpool illuminations. We have been visiting the same site for about 4 years now and we only visit once a year at this time of year. We also know which shops to visit and where the car boot sales are.

Today we visited two car boot sales which were both a couple of miles away from the caravan site where we were staying. I find it interesting that the things on sale at car boot sales are so very different depending on where they are in the country. The two sales we visited today were mainly stalls owned by older people which meant that the items being sold were a little old fashioned and not my taste. I found a few items from just a couple of stalls which were owned by some younger people and younger families so was sill happy to have bought some bargains.

I love medium sized shower gels and body lotions for taking on holiday with me as I find they just last the standard fortnight holiday. Last week I bought Marc Jacobs Dot sets and this week I managed to find two sets of Marc Jacobs Daisy shower gel and body lotion. The tubes are 75ml each and I paid  £3 for the 4 tubes. The body lotion is on sale at £25 for 150ml and the shower gel is normally £22 for 150ml so I have the same amount but in four tubes rather than 2. I have saved £44 on the new price. Of course I checked that the tubes were new and smelled 'fresh' before I bought them.

From the same family I bought two brand new DreamWorks DVDs which are new and still sealed in their cellophane. They are Spirit and El Dorado and these were both 50p each. These are currently selling for £4.22 and £5.98 on Amazon so a saving of just over £9. I also bought three other DVDs which came from one couple and these were £2.50 for the 3. They had all been watched but are in excellent condition.

I found a new Guerlain perfumes duffle bag in a thick black material which will be great for swimwear and towels on holidays and weekends away and this cost just 50p.

I bought 4 books, one which is a present for my nephew as a stocking filler and was 50p, a couple of novels for myself to read on holiday and these were both 50p and finally a fabulous hard back Christmas Cookery Book which was new and just £1. For those that are getting to know me, you will recognise my love of Christmas and I start preparing months in advance so I will really enjoy reading this over the next few evenings and choosing which recipes to use.

I found just one magazine for 20p which is 10 months old but will keep me happy for an hour's reading. I pass all my magazines on to my Dad who gives them to one of his elderly lady neighbours. I love the fact that they are recycled and read many times by a number of people.

Yesterday we visited a shop in Fleetwood which we know sells well known branded food and drink but at knockdown prices because they are short dated. We spent just under £20 but came back with a boot full of food and drink. David and I bought 24 small tins (150ml) of Canada Dry at 20p a tin (best before April 2015) instead of the 42p charged at most supermarkets. We also bought Schweppes tomato juice in the same small tins at 10p each. These are great as mixer drinks for a Whisky & Dry and for Bloody Mary cocktails. We also came back with 8 Schweppes tonic water with a hint of elderflower in 250ml tins. These cost 69p for 4 and similar mixer drinks sell for over £1 a tin. These are great as a change from a plain gin and tonic. We bought four 1 litre bottles of Scheppes citrus blend mixer at 50p a bottle. These are best before December 2014. I think we may be drinking some cocktails and mixed drinks over the next few months instead our usual drink of chilled wine.

I bought a number of bars of Asda Extra Special chocolate with a hint of espresso for 39p each and these normally sell for £1.29. We found Cinnamon Graham cereal which were in bags rather than cardboard boxes and were for the European market rather than the UK. These were just 69p so I bought a couple of these along with Asda Horseradish sauce at 15p a jar and Lloyd Grossman pasta sauces at 59p a jar. The pasta sauce and horseradish sauce would have cost £10 but I paid £2.66. I bought some packets of Phileas Fogg American Bubble chips for 59p instead of £1.59.

I visited some charity shops and a small shopping outlet too but I will post details of these tomorrow. Oh! we did not spend the whole weekend shopping. We did get to see the illuminations and I really thought the trams lit up as boats and trains were brilliant.

Sunday Car Boot Haul Part 2

I  love candles and I like Yankee Candle as a favourite. Following this my second love is Wax Lyrical. I bought a beautiful perfume lamp which is new, in it's box and come complete with two rope wicks, funnel for pouring oil into it and even a box of matches in the set. There were also two bottles of scented oil - one White Mulberry and the other Vanilla in the set. The lamp retails on its own for £30 and the oils for around £6 - £15. I paid £9 for all three items and will use this in our living room.

I also love Partylite candles and candle holders. I have bought these from colleagues or friends when they have hostessed a party but you can buy them on line too. I found this pair of adaptable holders that can be used in three different ways. They have similar available in their on line catalogue here. They cost £16.95 but mine cost just £1.50. I already have a similar pair and think they will look lovely in a line down the centre of my dining table at Christmas.

I could not resist two candles that are from a company called Home Flameware. You can buy these currently on Amazon at £7.99 for the large and £3.99 for the small. I paid 50p each and they still have a strong fragrance as they are still sealed up. I thought the red colour would be great at Christmas and the scent is Strawberry and Raspberry which is quite light. A lot of red candles at Christmas are strong cinnamon type scents so I thought a lighter fragrance would make a great change.

I found two stocking fillers for my nephew. The first is an Adidas wallet which is new and cost just 20p and the second is a RayBan toiletry bag which cost just £1. Again this was new and in a sealed bag. It is really good quality and opens up with a hanger at the top. He is 16 at the moment and I am sure will love both of these. I also bought a stocking filler for my brother-in-law which is a bottle opener in the firm of a key so he can keep this on his key ring for when he goes on camping trips.

I bought a brand new Gap polo shirt for my Dad for £1 from one woman who was selling some of her husbands clothes which she said he had bought but never worn. The top still had the tags and stickers attached and is £16.95 to buy new. I bought him a grey jumper last week so I think this top will look great when they are worn together. David bought a thick rugby style sweatshirt from her for £3 and this was also new with a price tag of £42 still on it from Marks & Spencer.

One lovely family were selling all their cookery book for 3 for £1 and you got a free piece of home made Rocky Road with every cook book purchase. We took just one piece which was quickly scoffed straight away and it was delicious. I bought two hard back books, Tana Ramsay's Family Kitchen (£20) and Cupcakes, Muffins & More (£9.99). I also bought a heavy weight paperback book, The Essential Vegetarian Cookbook (£12.99). We are not vegetarians but sometimes we do eat meatless meals and I thought this would give me some ideas and introduce some variety. For £1 for all 3 I thought this was a great buy.

I found a pair of brand new shoe boots by Gabor from one trader who is often on the Cheshire car boot sale. As you can see from the link a similar pair is currently selling for £79.99 and I paid £8. He always has expensive brand shoes for sale, some of which have been clearly worn and others look new. We think they may be returns but none look faulty or seconds. I thought these would be great to wear with trousers over the autumn & winter months and I can wear them for work or at weekends when out and about.

My niece loves Soap & Glory and I bought this shower hat (£6.25) with vanity bag (similar here £17.50) and Shower puff (£3.50) for £1.50 for all three. A saving of £25.75 on the full price. They were all new and unused but did not come with labels or tags. I think they were probably part of a gift set with the toiletries having been used and the lady not wanting the accessories. I have already bought toiletries for her so will put these inside the bag for her for Christmas.

I bought some things for the home including mugs, pillow cases and ramekins. There are too many to list and photograph for this posting but I will post details of them at another time. The most expensive price was 50p for the pillow cases so I know I have got some bargains. We are away next weekend with family and visit this site in Lancashire every year at this time of year. It is getting towards the end if the car booting season but we know that there is usually 1 or 2 car boot sales just near where we are staying so I am hopeful that we will be able to do some more bargain hunting but at a different location. I will post details of these next week if we manage to visit them.

Sunday Car Boot Haul

I prayed for good weather for Sunday so that we could visit the two car boot sales that were on in Cheshire. My prayers were answered and we managed to visit both of them in what turned out to be a very busy and fruitful morning. We are both early risers and got to the first car boot sale at 7am which meant we managed to get the pick of the bargains before it started to get very busy. We were there until 10.30am and then went to the second car boot sale on the village common. This was not as fruitful but we still managed to find a few bargains.

I have spent a lot of money today but have come home with a huge haul of treasures and these would have cost a considerable amount more if I had bought them from the shops. Most of the items that I have bought are new complete with tags or wrapping/boxes. Many are unwanted gifts or have been bought and then not used. I have bought things for myself and for family as little gifts/stocking fillers for Christmas.

The first things I found were three adorable Cath Kidston purses complete with labels priced at £6. They cost me 50p each so I bought one for myself and one each for my sister and niece. A £16.50 saving on the shop price. I also found two cute scarves which were both really large. The first one with the cats heads on it is for my niece as she has a cat called Smokey which looks just like the cat print. The second one is from H & M and is like a soft cream cobweb. This is for me and I thought it would really lift  the colour of my black coat come winter. Both of these were £1 each.

I bought a whole selection of toiletries as I could not resist the price of some and the smell of others. I bought the Marc Jacobs Dot shower gel and body lotion for 50p each from one lady who was just a lovely seller. I also got the set of four Ted Baker lip crayons from her for £5. These were £15 last Christmas in Boots and I found a lovely blog called Birds Words which has a great review of these lip crayons so I am delighted I found them at a bargain price of £1.25 each. I bought the Charles Worthington takeaways and Lush Happy Hippy shower gel (£3.50) for 50p along with 3 bottles of Pantene leave in conditioner for 50p. I found my favourite eyeshadow, Antique Rose by Boots No7 from the same lady for 50p. I love this shade as it really lifts my eyelids. It is a pink with dark antique gold shimmer to it. It has been discontinued so if I find one on my travels I snap it up quick. I go through quite a lot of hand cream as I always keep a tube in th car and put some on before I drive off in the mornings. I found this The Body Shop Almond hand & nail cream gift set for £1.50. The cream on its own is £5 so I guess I saved about £5 taking into account the nail file, buffer and nail clippers. I found the Charles Worthington Takeaways and the hair mousse for £1 for all 3. I love the size of these takeaways for holidays and although not too bothered about the mousse, the price was 50p an item or 3 for £1 so I thought I might as well have it for free.

My final toiletry purchase was a huge and very heavy jar of  Laura Mercier fresh fig soufflé body creme for £1. This is currently £44.50 in Selfridges so I thought this was a fantastic buy. It is new, unopened and when I opened it to check it was "fresh" and still had a fragrance I could not believe the divine smell.

I found a selection of 7 magazines, Cheshire Life, Cheshire Resident and Woman & Home for £2 for all of them. The oldest is December 2013 and newest August 2014. These cost £5 for Cheshire Resident, £3.65 for Cheshire Life and £3.99 for Woman & Home so a saving of  just under £27 if I had bought them new.

I bought a black patent leather Louis Vuitton style bag for £2 (yes. £2!!) from a young lady who had a stall with her mum. She said she had paid £60 when she had bought it and it looks brand new. The inside of the bag is immaculate and it does not look like it has been used. I was really pleased with this purchase. I also found a cheap & cheerful bag that has originally come from Matalan so will not have cost too much when new. This has sequins in lines across the front and a medium sized purse attached. This will be ideal for taking to the pool or beach and is incredibly lightweight so great for in a suitcase to keep the airline luggage costs down. This was 50p and looks new. Then my darling David bought me a large black leather tote bag from Marks & Spencer Autograph range. It is a great size and fits over my shoulder. The leather is as soft as butter and although it cost £20 these are usually over £100 when new. So I am delighted with my three new bags and will certainly use the large tote bag for work and weekends away.

I bought several presents for family and also some items for myself and the home but I am going to post these tomorrow as I think we may start to suffer from car boot sale overload if I list some more items today.

Monthly Plans for September

At the start of every month I make plans for what I am going to do at home. I reviewed my plans for August and have managed to achieve some of them but not all of them, so some of the plans have rolled over to September. The plans I managed to achieve were:
  • Organise our garden shed that has numerous pieces of garden equipment simply dumped on the floor.  At the back of the shed were some lovely Cath Kidston style cushions for our patio chairs which I could not reach. After the tidy up I managed to retrieve these and decided they were too nice for the patio so have brought them inside and they are currently being used on the chairs at our kitchen table.
  • Continue with the Sunday Car Boot sales (weather permitting) to gain as many bargains as I can while the car booting season is in full swing. You will have seen my postings about my finds at the car boot sales that I have been to.
The plans that I have not achieved are:
  • Empty one of my 5 (yes I have 5 smallish freezers) to a level that it can be deep cleaned and provide some space for new fresh reduced food. This is now on my plans for September and I am determined to achieve this.
  • Sort out the front garden into some kind of order due to my neglect. I have concentrated too much on the back garden. I have made a start on this but then lost interest and the weeds have come back and some shrubs become overgrown so I am back to square one. The weather forecast is good for September so I really need to get stuck in and do my best to restore some order.

New plans
  • I have stored quite a lot of presents that I have bought for family in the garage. These have come from car boot sales over the summer and as I buy them I do not make a note of what I have bought and for whom. This means that sometimes things get forgotten or I end up buying far too much for people on the basis that it is a bargain.  It then ends up not being a bargain because I have spent too much. So, I need to get everything out to see what I have and make a list of what I have for each family member. They then need to be put back but all together in one place so they are easy to locate come December.
  • I need to make a start on organising our dining room which is starting to look like a dumping ground. This should only be a morning or afternoon task but I keep putting this off and it starts to become a little depressing looking into a messy room everyday.

Today's Thrifty Update

After being on holiday I needed to buy some fresh food so did my shopping at Waitrose and looked out for reductions with any multibuy offers so that I could take advantage of their computer glitch. I have talked about this in a previous posting here.

I needed some cooked meats for sandwiches and found four packs of oak smoked ham reduced from £3.49 to £1.15. There was a multibuy offer in buying two packs for £6, so I knew I would still get £1.98 off the reduced price. This meant that I paid just 64p for the four packs of ham which I thought was excellent value. I used two packs for sandwiches and put the other two packs into the freezer.

I also found three packs of chicken Forestiere pate reduced from £2.49 to 85p. These had a multibuy offer of three for £6 which meant that I would get £1.47 off the reduced price. This meant I paid just £1.08 for the three packs. I thought the pate would be lovely with some fresh French bread at lunchtime at the weekend so put these straight into the freezer to use over the next couple of weekends.

The patisserie counter started to reduce the fresh bread, pastries and cakes just as I was coming to the end of my shopping trip so as a treat I bought Raisin Danish Pastries and Chocolate Toursades reduced from 70p each to 15p each. We will have these for breakfast or as treat with coffee late in the afternoon.

I managed to get some reduced fresh food including new potatoes and green beans but these were only reduced by 25% and I normally look for at least 50% off. I bought these anyway as I needed them to go with a chicken casserole that I took out of the freezer for our evening meal tonight.

Being away for a week makes you look at your home with fresh eyes. I realised that I have far too much food in our freezers and that I really do need to reduce the amount in them. This should give me the opportunity to defrost and clean them and then have space to stock them up again. I keep saying that I will empty one of them but I seem to get half way through the task and then fill it up again. I have decided that this time I really will empty them and see how long we can live off the food that I have in stock so to speak.

I suppose the start has been taking the home made chicken casserole out and I think this will do for two evening meals each. I think we may be having some slightly different meals than usual by using up the food that is in there as I do not know what is at the bottom of two of the chest freezers. I'll keep you posted over the next few weeks with what I find and the meals I cook from the freezer stock.

I received a free magazine in the post which was The World of Interiors. I got this free via either an online site or Facebook (I can't remember which) and it should have cost £4.90. Not bad getting it delivered to me for free.
