A Very Lazy Holiday

As promised, here is my post about our holiday in Kalkan which we returned home from on Monday morning. We usually go away for the first two weeks in October and know that the weather is generally starting to cool down by then with the occasional cloud or spot of rain. This year we had 30 degrees and scorching sunshine for the full two weeks. We had to use the air con every night otherwise we could not sleep. The weather was just fabulous.

This year we chose a different hotel to the one we have stayed in over the last couple of years. We chose the Hotel Dionysia this time and we're pleased with our choice. It was peaceful and quiet with a dwindling number of guests as the days went by so no problems with sun bed availability. It was just perfect for us and for some reason this year we chose to do as little as possible.

Normally we are travelling to other resorts, going on boat trips, having long walks and visiting beach clubs. This time we pottered around the town a couple of afternoons and visited Kas one day but for the most part we lazed around the pool. I read 5 books, dozens of magazines which had been left by guests and slept.  Initially we felt guilty for doing nothing. I suppose we are so used to being busy and rushing around that the change of pace was unsettling. We then realised that we both needed to do nothing for once and recharge our batteries and that was just what we both needed. We returned home well rested and ready to face the everyday challenges again.

It takes me about a week to get straight so I have just finished the washing, have a stack of ironing to do and still a few items to unpack from my case. We have a couple of weekends away planned so have something to look forward to until our next holiday in April next year.

Hope you all had fabulous holidays this year and that you all have something to look forward to until to your next break.

Sounds like the perfect holiday, lovely. We're off again on Wednesday, Dominican Republic with extended family this time, so a busier holiday than our last one, no doubt. I feel like I've barely unpacked the case, and I"m about to get it out again! x
