Carbooty Sale

Just before we went on holiday we managed to squeeze in a carboot sale that we thought was the last one for us for this year. This has turned out to not be the case as the local free paper has an advert for the carboot sale every Sunday. Yay!. Well we were blessed with sunny weather and it was quite a busy sale. I did not buy huge amounts and limited myself to just a few items.

After buying some large Yankee Candle jars the other week I was pleased to find this large tray and shade in the most gorgeous shades of copper and bronze. I think it will look beautiful on cream, ivory and caramel coloured candles. This cost me £5 and they usually cost between £20 - £25 for the set.

I was pleased to find some nearly new Lacoste sandals in my size that a lady said she had paid £60 for. They looked like they had never been worn and she said she had bought them to wear at a party and had not worn them since. I paid £5 for them and think they will look great with maxi dresses, jeans or trousers. I think they look quite classy for a summer sandal.

I found another Camembert pot to bake a whole cheese in. I bought one of these from the Cheshire carboot sale the other week so was pleased to find an identical one. This means we can have two for when we have friends and family round as I do not think one would be enough. This cost £2.50.

One lady always has fabulous home items and toiletries on her stall. I bought three bottles of Quicksilver suntan lotion from her for £1 a bottle. They are spray bottles and SPF 25 and SPF 15. These were a bargain at £1 each.

I love Marc Jacobs Daisy perfumes and bought a shower gel and body lotion for £2.50 for two which is more than I have paid in the past but I love the fresh scent for on holiday. They are 75ml size tubes which is just the right amount for a two week holiday for me.

I bought some L'Oreal nutrisummer face cream for 50p as well as some Veet cream for 50p. I like this face cream as it gives a gradual tan and I usually use it after I have been away to keep the tan lasting a bit longer for when I come back. This usually costs £7.99. I'll use the Veet cream on my legs just before we go on holiday so that I can go a few days without having to shave my legs while we are away.

My last buy was 5 DVDs for £1 from one guy who said he did not want to take anything home with him. I got a mixed selection to watch over the next few weeks.

David bought some vinyl (£1), CDs (20p), some new M&S canvas shoes (£1.50) and a Prince tennis racquet (£2.50). He also bought hinges for the doors in my kitchen.
